Line Dancing

What is line dancing?

A line dance is a choreographed dance in which a group of people dance along to a repeating sequence of steps while arranged in one or more lines or rows.

Why learn to line dance?

It’s great exercise for both the body and the mind. It’s physical exercise for the body and mental exercise to remember each dance.

If you like to dance but you don’t have a partner, line dancing is perfect for you.  Ballroom dancing, such as the waltz, cha cha, or swing requires a partner.  Line dancing does not.

You’ll notice at the parties that the line dancers use the front part of the dance floor so that they can stay in lines and not bother the ballroom dancers.

Line dance lessons in Champagne Village are on Mondays at 10:00 in the Hall.  There is no need to sign up, you simply show up a little before 10:00 am any Monday.  It is very important to wear shoes that will slide on the dance floor.  Residents should attend these sessions first to learn all the steps and the easiest line dances.

The line dance sessions (not lessons) at 9:00 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are a mixture of all the dances.
